The Eighth Scroll by Dr Laurence B. Brown

This novel was written by  Comparative Religious Scholar Laurence B. Brown.  He embraced Islam after making a promise to Allah, Alhumdulillah!  Its a wonderful story which can be viewed here.

The Eighth Sign is an action packed adventure  which starts off in the Dead Sea, 68 CE.    Its an entertaining read and one can learn a lot about the scrolls by reading this novel.

The story moves quickly into the 20th century and the discovery of the eight and final scroll in the Qumran caves by a group of theologians and archeologists.  After a murder at the dig site theologians, father and  son team, Gerald and  Michael Hansen head back home and are in for a bit of a suprise once they reach there.

If you don't know much about the Essene Jews, the Qumran Caves and the Dead Sea Scrolls and you like novels then this is worth the read!  At first I thought it was one  for the boys because of all it's gory stuff, blood and gutts and all, but that just hits you in the beginning dies out then hits you at the end again!

I have to commend brother Laurence B.Brown for his first novel as it also has the potential to reach out to non-believers and have them think about christianity and judaism in what we know as Muslims. Laurence B. Brown has also written God'ed and Mis-God'ed and  from what I've read so far there easy to grasp and extremely informative.

Mash'Allah, may Allah accept his hard work and effort as a heavy deed for his scale of good. Ameen.

Sister Mariam.
